Kassey & Sean’s April 4th wedding in Downtown Los Angeles was a visual dream- unsurprising, given a wardrobe stylist marrying an industry producer. The day began at the Proper Hotel, where they got ready, before moving to Seventh/Place in the Arts District for the celebration. The couple asked for a documentary-style approach, which I blended with my signature editorial portraiture- resulting in candid, cinematic storytelling.

One of my favorite and most important parts of the wedding experience for my couples is receiving their sneak peeks! Weddings go by so fast, and having a curated set of images within a couple of days allows them to relive and reflect on their special day while it’s still fresh.
It also gives them something to share with friends and family right away, which keeps the excitement going and creates anticipation for the full wedding photo gallery. I always make it a priority to deliver sneak peeks within 48 hours after the wedding, along with the film.

I always include a couple of complimentary rolls of film with each wedding- as it adds a soft and nostalgic element that complements the digital images from the day. For Kassey & Sean’s wedding, I shot Kodak Ultramax 400 during the day on my Canon AE-1 with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. In the evening, I switched to Cinestill 800T on my Minolta TC-1 , which is perfect for low light, especially with its built-in flash.
If you’re planning a wedding in Downtown Los Angeles, the Arts District, or anywhere in Southern California and are looking for a wedding photographer who blends editorial and documentary-style imagery (with film + fast sneak peeks), I’d love to connect!
